America's greatest poet, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, once wrote "If spring came but once a century instead of once a year, or burst forth with the sound of an earthquake and not in silence, what wonder and expectation there would be in all hearts to behold the miraculous change."  His eloquent words inspired me to think - wouldn't it be crazy if Paws In The City celebrated the coming of Spring by having a monster fundraiser at one of Dallas's finest hotels?  Not at just any hotel, but at a hotel where superstars stay when in Dallas?  Well, let's just do it.  The coolest animal rescue group should have the coolest fundraiser at the coolest bar in the coolest hotel in Dallas.

That bar would be, of course, Urban Oasis at the Hotel ZaZa.  We will be having the Spring fundraiser at Urban Oasis on April 30 from 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM.  How is this possible?  First, we lied a whole lot about the type of person who our group attracts.  Second, they sent representatives to look us over at Martinis for Mutts and, thankfully, we didn't destroy anything - which looks good to a hotel that caters to rock stars.  Third, Hotel ZaZa is filled with the type of genuinely nice people that appreciate our hard work on behalf of beleaguered animals.

Hotel ZaZa is generously providing us with Urban Oasis, their poolside retreat, hors d'oevres, goodie bag treats, and some very nice silent auction items for a night that even the afore-mentioned Mr. Longfellow would have termed "glorius".  Thanks to a sponsorship by Beam Global, all the proceeds of the sponsored drinks (less a fair gratuity) will be donated to Paws in the City. Enjoy a wide array of sponsored drinks based on vodka, rum, bourbon and rye - all of which can be purchased with (and only purchased with) our reasonablly priced vouchers.

I think young Henry would have appreciated our efforts to welcome Spring in the manner that it deserves.  Maybe his thoughts would have been something like this: "Spring will come and Spring will go, but Paws in the City can always use the dough; buy your tickets right away or you'll standing outside while the fun people play."  Or something like that.
